On May 07, 2013 the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and the Hoxie Police Department arrested Arron
Allen age 33, of Hoxie for possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of drug paraphernalia
and driving on suspended driver’s license. The arrest comes from Sheriff’s Deputies and Hoxie Officers
working a sobriety/seatbelt checkpoint in Hoxie. Allen pulled up to the checkpoint and officers spoke
with him. Allen advised officers that his license was suspended. Officers ran a check to confirm the
information and also learned that Allen was on SIS (suspended imposition of sentence) for a prior drug
offence. Officers asked to look in the vehicle. Inside the vehicle officers found meth and a set of digital
scales. Allen was then asked if he had anything illegal at his Hoxie residence. Allen then consented to a
search of his residence. At the residence officers found meth, syringes, more digital scales, prescription
drugs not belonging to Allen and items used to smoke meth. Allen was placed under arrest and
transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing.
The Prosecutors Office is also expecting to file to revoke Allen’s SIS sentence from Circuit Court.
