On February 19, 2013 the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office arrested Tommy Wilson (34) of Alicia on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest stems from deputies going on a home visit with DCC probation officers to Wilson’s residence. Tips from concerned citizens about suspicious traffic at the residence led to the home visit. At the residence deputies and probation officers found a large amount of Rx pain medicine and other Rx drugs. Wilson told his probation officer that he had been doctor shopping to get the Rx drugs. Wilson also stated that he had been selling the Rx drugs and trading them for meth. Deputies also found several items used to smoke meth inside the residence and in a shed. Wilson was placed under arrest and transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing. Wilson was on probation for battery in the 2nd degree.
