According to Lawrence County Sheriff Jody Dotson, William Clay Lester, age 21 of Black Rock was arrested on charges of Theft of Property. According to the Sheriff, Lester’s arrest stems from a Black Rock resident reporting their debit card being taken and around $2,500 being withdrawn from the account.

The transactions took place during the month of January, a check of the bank records showed that the transactions occurred at an ATM in Black Rock. Investigators from Lawrence County obtained the video footage from the ATM and recognized Lester using the debit card.

The information was presented to a Judge and a warrant was issued for Lester. Deputies tracked Lester down and placed him under arrest. William Clay Lester was taken to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing.
