According to Hoxie Police Chief Glen Smith, a 16 year old Hoxie High School student was arrested Tuesday morning without incident after the student brought a gun to school.

The student was reported by another student after seeing the weapon. Once school officials were notified, the Hoxie Police Department was then advised and arrived on scene and arrested the student.

The student told police he found the firearm and had forgotten that he had it with him. According to police reports, the gun was not loaded at the time, the student whose name has not been released was charged with Felony Charges of carrying a weapon onto school property.
