Sheriff Jody Dotson today released information regarding a female that was arrested on the Sloan Hendrix Campus early Saturday morning. According to reports, Arkansas State Trooper Creston Hutton received a call from a school official reporting the woman on campus and acting suspicious. Trooper Hutton responded to the campus and made contact with the female.
According to witnesses, the female was somewhat incoherent and was claiming her children were taken. After an investigation, it was found that the female had no children and was visiting a nearby residence. Trooper Hutton attempted to detain the female when she began to run from the officer and attempt to avoid apprehension. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to assist the Trooper. The female was eventually detained and taken to the Lawrence County Jail.
According to witnesses, the female admitted to using Bath Salts and Spice, thus causing her intoxication. The female was identified as 21 year old Jamie L. Ashford of Ravenden Springs. Ashford was booked into the Lawrence County Jail on charges of Disorderly Conduct, Public Intoxication and Resisting Arrest.
