On Friday, January 18th at 1:18 pm a routine traffic stop on Hwy 63 B in Hoxie resulted in a drug arrest. According to Sheriff Dotson, Deputy Blake Liscomb was in the process of a routine traffic stop when he observed the driver acting nervous.
The Driver of the vehicle, David Baty was asked by the K-9 Officer if he possessed anything illegal, he replied no. Mr. Baty did admit to being on probation. During a search of Mr. Batty, Deputy Liscomb found a case in an inside jacket pocket. When asked about it, the suspect admitted it was drugs.
The deputy recovered 5 baggies containing 17.8 grams of meth ice and $561.00 cash. David Baty and Brandy Roberson, the passenger were both arrested and transported to the Lawrence County Jail. Charges in the incident are Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Probation Violation.
