On January 10, 2013 the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office arrested Dwight Nunnally (36) and Tiffany McCain (23) of the Clear Springs area of Annieville on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute (meth), possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, endangering the welfare of a minor and criminal use of prohibited weapons. McCain also has additional charges of felon in possession of a firearm and probation violations. Nunnally also has additional charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threatening and battery. The arrests stem from an arrest warrant being issued for Nunnally for the aggravated assault, terroristic threatening and battery. A search warrant was also issued for a handgun that was used in the assault. Deputies from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office along with officers from the Arkansas State Police, Arkansas Game & Fish, Hoxie Police Department, AET ambulance and the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office went to Nunnally’s residence on Clear Springs Road near Annieville to execute the search warrant and arrest warrant. Inside the residence officers found Nunnally and McCain along with a 4 year old female child. Lying on the coffee table in the living room was a large bag of meth and a glass meth pipe. Also in the living room were several loaded handguns and rifles within reach of the meth. Officers also found a large bag of marijuana in the living room area. Officers also found several more rifles throughout the residence and surrounding out buildings. Officers found digital scales and other items of drug paraphernalia throughout the residence. One of the rifles had the barrel cut to an unlawful length and a switchblade knife was also found. The residence had a video and audio surveillance system watching the front and back of the residence. DHS was contacted and about the 4 year old child and AET checked out the girl before DHS took her into protective care. Nunnally and McCain were placed under arrest and transported the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing. A check of both subjects showed that McCain was on probation for prior drug charges.
