Shortly after 11 am on Saturday, the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a vehicle crashing into the Dollar General Store on Highway 63 in Imboden.
The Imboden Volunteer Fire Department responded and were on scene in just minutes. Firemen arrived to find a Ford truck that had struck the ice machine out front and pushed it into the building, causing some structural damage to the building and contents.
According to Imboden Assist. Chief Jim Jones, the subject was suffering from the flu and stopped at the Dollar General to buy some water, as he pulled up to the store his dog which was in the truck jumped into the drivers side causing him to run into the ice machine. Jones also stated there were no injuries in the store and the driver was not harmed either.
The accident is being investigated by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
