First Day Hike: Powhatan Town Tour

Start the new year off right by exercising both mind and body! Join a park interpreter for a guided tour of historic Powhatan. Stroll along the banks of the Black River where the Delta meets the Ozarks while learning about life in a busy 19th-century steamboat town. Today’s activities are part of a nationwide “First Day Hikes” movement; join others across Arkansas and the nation out on the trails on the first day of 2013!

Beginner’s Knitting Workshop

Registration Fee: $15/person
Have you always admired your grandmother’s knitted scarves, hats, and sweaters, but never thought you could recreate them? You can, and it’s easier than you might think! Join us to learn the basic stitches you’ll need to get started making handmade clothing, gifts, and household items. Tools and materials are provided, and participants are given a project to take home. Please bring a sack lunch. Contact the park at (870) 878-6765 to register.
