According to the Arkansas State Police, Lester Brown of Pocahontas killed at 10:56 am Thursday on Hwy 62 as he was walking across Hwy 62 and was struck by a 1997 Mazda truck driven by Vickie Jean Spears.

Deputies from Randolph County, Pro-Med Ambulance and the Arkansas State Police responded to the scene, Mr. Brown was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Doug Thielemier of Randolph County. The accident happened 5 miles west of Pocahontas.
