Just one day after a 2009 Chevrolet was stolen from 4th Street in Imboden, the vehicle was spotted the stolen vehicle in Pocahontas. The Randolph County Dispatch was notified, officers attempted to make a traffic stop on Hwy 67 at the Burger King in Pocahontas.
As officers attempted the traffic stop, the suspect ran from the vehicle and hid behind the bank before fleeing and being captured on the airport property.
The truck, belonging to Larry McLeod of Imboden was being processed by Pocahontas Police and Randolph County Sheriff’s Department. Lawrence County sent an officer to assist in the incident. Mr. McLeod’s truck will be released once investigators are finished processing the vehicle, he was notified that the vehicle had been recovered and was in route to Pocahontas.
The identity of the suspect has not been released at this time, charges are pending release by Sheriff Dotson.
