Candidate For Lawrence County Sheriff Involved In High Speed Chase That Results In Accident

 
A high speed chase Tuesday night on Hwy 63 south of Sedgwick resulted in a Jonesboro man being air-lifted to Memphis.
 
The Arkansas State Police are investigating the accident in which the Constable Ezra Pierce was in a pursuit with a Ford Mustang driven by John Simpson of Jonesboro. According to reports, the Mustang wrecked at the intersection of 63 and 63B at Bono. The vehicle was partially submerged and the suspect had to be pulled from the car by a Bono Police Officer. Initial reports indicate that the chase was in excess of 100 mph.
 
Arkansas State Police investigators are waiting on an official report from the Constable concerning the incident. Ezra Pierce is listed as the Promised Land Constable.
 
The condition of the accident victim, John Simpson was not known.
