Sheriff Jody Dotson announced the arrest of Donovan Jones after an extensive search by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.

Donovan Jones was wanted in connection with an October 11th theft case that included a large amount of stolen items including several guns and ammunition.

Jones had several past convictions including Reckless Homicide.

Sheriff Dotson stated that a tip was received saying Donovan Jones was hiding out in the Poughkeepsie area. Deputies from Lawrence County traveled to Sharp County where Donovan Jones was found hiding at a residence. Jones was arrested with the assistance of the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office. Â Jones is now in the custody of the Lawrence County Jail.

Over the weekend, Sheriff Dotson stepped up patrols in the Lynn and Strawberry area in an effort to establish the whereabouts of Jones.
