Columbus Day Kayak Tour to be held at Lake Charles State Park on Saturday,
October 6th, 2012 from 1pm-3pm

Come on out to Lake Charles State Park and celebrate Columbus Day on Saturday

October 6th, 2012. Columbus may not have discovered America, but you can explore

the coves and inlets of Lake Charles and discover for yourself why it is a great place to

see wildlife. Space on this tour is limited and registration is required. Please call the

park office at (870) 878-6595 by Noon on Friday October 5th to register. The cost is $10

for adults, $5 for children, and kids 6 or under are free. Previous kayaking experience is

not required.

Lake Charles State Park is one of the 52 state parks administered by the State Parks

Division of the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism. The park offers camping,

boat launch ramp, a standard pavilion, picnic sites, swim beach, nature center,

playground, restrooms and 3 bathhouses on 645-acre Lake Charles. Along with the

visitor center and gift shop, the park offers three nature trails and year-round interpretive
