Three Local Fire Departments Battle A Large Grass Fire On Hwy 115 On Thursday

 
Shortly after 2:10 pm on Thursday, the Lawrence County Dispatch received a report of a large grass fire on Hwy 115 between Annieville and Smithville.
 
Imboden and Smithville Volunteer Departments responded with several units and firemen, once on scene the Ravenden Volunteer Fire Department was requested by Imboden for assistance.
 
By 2:28 pm, Imboden, Ravenden, Smithville and the Arkansas Forestry were on scene. Firefighters reported that wind was hampering the efforts. Imboden moved one of it’s engines into the area for extra water.
 
By 3:05 pm the fire was out and all fire departments were back in service. There were no injuries reported and no structures damaged by the fire.
