According to the Arkansas State Police, four members of the Martin Creek Volunteer Fire Department were injured while working an accident on Hwy 175 and the intersection at Baker Cemetery Road in Sharp County.
The accident happened as firefighters were assisting with a one vehicle accident when a car driven by Carl Barlow lost control in the same curve then struck the firefighters, a fire truck and the original wrecked vehicle.
Katina Bagwell was airlifted to St. Johns Medical Center, Bernadette Freigy was transported by ambulance before being flown to Memphis, Clarence Baggett was transported to White River Medical Center and Chief William James was transported by private vehicle to a local hospital. The conditions of the victims are not known at this time.
The accident is being investigated by the Arkansas State Police.
