Although Curtis Richey of Imboden is still facing charges in Sharp and possibly Izzard County, a Lawrence County Jury took just 52 minutes to convict Curtis Richey and sentence him to 35 years in the Arkansas Department Of Corrections.

The jury sentenced him to 10 years on 3 counts of rape of a person less than 18 years old, sentences to run concurrently and 25 years for the 4th count of rape of a person less than 14 years of age according to court records.

On June 17, 2011 the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Dept. arrested Curtis Richey (11/15/74) of Imboden on charges of rape. The arrest came after the FBI received information involving Richey and an underage female. The information was passed to the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division. Investigators from the Sheriff’s Dept. and Crimes Against Children spoke with the young female who confirmed the allegations. The investigators then spoke with Richey and he admitted the allegations. Richey was placed under arrest and transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing. Bond was set at $50,000 at a hearing on June 20 and a Circuit Court date of June 29 was issued.
