Thumperthon 5K To Be A Part Of “Beatles On The Ridge”, Event Will Benefit NEA Humane Society

 
The second annual Cavenaugh Thumperthon 5K will be a part of the festivities at this year’s Beatles at the Ridge music festival in Walnut Ridge. The event, which will benefit the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society, will take place at 8 a.m. Sept. 15 in Stewart Park.This year, the 5K will be a part of The Ridge Rider Running Series and will also kick off Beatles at the Ridge.The Cavenaugh Thumperthon 5K is named in honor of Donald Cavenaugh and his longtime canine running partner, Thumper. Runners and walkers are encouraged to bring their furry running partners with them to participate in the event.“This is a flat course and suitable for all levels of runners and walkers,” event organizer Fran Cavenaugh said. “Prizes will be awarded for both dogs and their owners.” A Kids Fun Run will follow the 5K race. Every child ages 12 and younger who participates in the Fun Run will get a winner’s medal.The second annual Beatles at the Ridge music festival will take place Sept. 15 in downtown Walnut Ridge.
