With extreme heat in the area, lots of people took to the water over the 4th of July Holiday, prompting several 911 calls.
 
Members of Sheriff Dotson’s Dive and Recovery Team responded to the Game and Fish Boat Ramp at Imboden on Wednesday after the Lawrence County Dispatch received a message from Randolph County reported a missing person on the Spring River.
 
A group of floaters became separated while floating from Ravenden to Imboden. Both parties were found and reunited, there were no injuries. AET Ambulance was called for standby.
 
The Lawrence County Dive and Rescue Team responded to another call shortly before 8 pm on Wednesday at Black Rock. The Lawrence County Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting an intoxicated female jumping from a 4-wheeler into the Spring River, the caller stated they quickly lost sight of the female.
 
Members of the LCSO Dive Team launched the sheriff’s boat at Black Rock and traveled up the Black to the Spring in search of the female. Members of the LCSO Team were joined by officers from Black Rock.
 
The female was found safe, she was also found to have outstanding warrants. The female was arrested and transported by boat back to the Black Rock boat launch, where she was taken by Lawrence County Deputies to the Lawrence County Jail.
