Lawrence County Dispatch received a call from V & B Manufacturing in the Industrial Park at Walnut Ridge reporting a fire in one of their buildings. Dispatch sent the Walnut Ridge Fire Department, Walnut Ridge Police and both AET Ambulance and Medic One to the scene.
Walnut Ridge rolled several engines and it’s Tower One truck to the scene, firefighters arrived on scene and reported smoke showing from the building.
The Pocahontas Fire Department was called for mutual assistance. Pocahontas started toward the scene, firefighters from the Walnut Ridge Fire Department were able to quickly get the fire under control. Pocahontas was turned back at the county line after Walnut Ridge units advised the fire was under control and their assistance was appreciated but not needed.
Walnut Ridge Police assisted with traffic control in the area, at 4 pm the Walnut Ridge command advised the Lawrence County Dispatch that the fire was out and once they reloaded their trucks, they would be back in service.
No injuries were reported, the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
