Sheriff Jody Dotson posted on his Facebook “Thanks to the folks who have checked on us, we are fine. We were above the explosion and a little shook up but good”.

This came after an explosion at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville. The hotel is hosting the National Sheriff’s Association’s Annual Conference and Exhibition. Nashville Metro Police and fire crews are on scene. Witness reports stated that ceiling tiles and other debris was dislodged during the explosion. Calhoun County Sheriff Larry Amerson told news agencies that hotel officials are describing it as a mechanical explosion and not a bomb. The investigation is still ongoing and no reports of injuries at this time.

The explosion occurred around 8:20 pm on Tuesday.

Opryland Officials stated there were about 5000 law enforcement officers in the building at the time of the explosion.
