Lynn, Strawberry and Saffell Fire Departments Respond To Assist Sharp County Fire Firefighters

 
At 3:20 pm on Monday, the Strawberry Fire Department was dispatched to Hwy 230 close to Precision Lures in Sharp County. The Lawrence County Dispatch received a request from Sharp County and several calls concerning what was described as a large wildland fire.
 
Cave City and Grange-Calamine Fire Departments were also dispatched to the same fire. Once on the scene, Strawberry requested the assistance of the Lynn Fire Department, Saffell Fire Department and the Arkansas Forestry.
 
Strawberry, Lynn and Saffell all responded with multiple trucks and firefighters to the area. Firefighters worked several hours on the fire that reportedly endangered several structures in the area of the intersection of Wildcat Road and Hwy 230. Firefighters dealt with dry conditions and a constant wind, adding to the already large fire. Crews from the Arkansas Forestry cut “fire lines” around the fire with Bull Dozers while fire departments protected structures and put out “hot spots”.
