Officers from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office were alerted to a possible intoxicated man behind the counter at the Subway in Imboden shortly before 9 pm on Sunday night.

 

Employees told officers the man appeared to be intoxicated as he entered the store, he then went behind the counter and began helping himself to the food.

 

Employees were able to fend off the man who exited the building and was sitting in a van as officers from Lawrence County arrived. When the man was ask about the incident, he stated “He was hungry”.

 

The suspect was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct, he was then taken to the Lawrence County Jail by officers.

 

No word yet if Sheriff Dotson let him make his own sandwich in jail.
