Lawrence County, Walnut Ridge Police And Arkansas State Police Respond Sunday To Assist Hoxie In Armed Standoff

 
At 5:10 pm, officers from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office that were monitoring the radio traffic of the Hoxie Police Department heard Hoxie Officers respond to a domestic violence call that quickly turned very dangerous.
 
The suspect in the domestic violence barricaded himself in a residence in Hoxie. Units from Lawrence County, Walnut Ridge Police Department and Arkansas State Police rushed to assist the Hoxie Officers. Dispatchers warned officers that Hoxie described the suspect as “armed with a shotgun in the residence”.
 
At 5:22 pm the Lawrence County Dispatch notified officers that Hoxie Officers had the suspect in custody, no injuries were reported in the incident. The suspect was arrested, charges or the identity of the suspect have not been released at this time.
