At 6:45 pm on Friday evening a Black Rock Officer on patrol reported almost being hit by a driver in a 1994 Honda Accord that crossed the centerline on Hwy 63 in Black Rock.

 

As the officer turned around, the suspect turned into the Kum-N-Go parking lot and jumped from the vehicle, fleeing on foot. As the suspect fled, it allowed his vehicle to roll into the Black Rock Police Car.

 

The Black Rock officer began chasing the suspect on foot through some woods towards Main Street. Officers from Lawrence County, Black Rock and the Arkansas State Police were notified and converged on the area to assist with the search for the subject.

 

At 6:53 pm the suspect was arrested by Lawrence County Deputies in an alley across from the Black Rock City Shop and transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await formal charges. The suspects vehicle was towed away.
