Smokin’ Pork Butts For The Children’s Shelter Fund Raiser Planned
 
A fundraiser to benefit the Children’s Shelter is being sponsored by Dan Ellison, Committee Chairman; Perry and Peggy Manus, Co-Chairs; The Hoxie and Walnut Ridge Fire Departments, Hoxie and Walnut Ridge Police Departments and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
 
Pork Butts can be pre-ordered and picked up on May 25th and 26th at the Hoxie Fire Department, Walnut Ridge Fire Department and the parking lot of Latham’s Grocery in Portia. The prices are $25.00 for one or $20.00 for two or more.
 
The Children’s Shelter is a private, nonprofit organization that provides a 24 hour emergency/temporary residential care to children who are victims of violence, neglect or physical/sexual abuse. It is designed to meet the needs of these children by providing them with a safe environment until a suitable relative or foster care becomes available.
