On April 28 the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office participated in the DEA’s national Rx take back event. The Sheriff’s Office held take back sites at 3 different locations, at the Sheriff’s Office in Walnut Ridge, the substation at Imboden and at the Strawberry Community Center. The Sheriff’s Office also has a permanent Rx drop box. Between the 3 take back sites and the permanent drop box 179.8 lbs. of old and unwanted medicines have been collected. The old medicines will be turned over to the DEA for proper disposal. Sheriff Dotson wants to “Thank” everyone that participated in the take back event, the Take Back Sites were attended to by members of the Lawrence County ATOD organization. Remember everyone can utilize the permanent drop box anytime at the Sheriff’s Office.
