On April 28th the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office arrested Timothy Scott Cannon Jr. (12/09/91) of Strawberry on charges of arson. The arrest came after a Strawberry resident called and reported that her neighbor had set her carport on fire. A deputy at the Rx take back in Strawberry was on scene in a few minutes and found the carport area of the residence on fire. The deputy called for the fire department and the Lynn fire department was paged out to the fire. The deputy and a resident went to work to contain the fire with 5 gallon buckets of water. Soon the fire was out. A recliner, a bicycle and a 2006 Volkswagen Beetle were damaged in the fire. The Lynn fire department arrived on scene and checked to make sure the fire was indeed out and it was safe. The deputy then did his report and found Cannon. Cannon was placed under arrest and transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing. The residents reported that they had had problems with Cannon in the past.
