On 04-04-12, Chief Tim McComas received a call from Paula Griffin of Ravenden, stating that someone had broken into her vehicle, and stole a DVD player. She advised that the neighbor had witnessed a white male, enter her vehicle, and take the DVD player. She stated that the male then ran to a vehicle parked by the Masonic Lodge, and fled the area. A license number was obtained. After leaving the complainants’ residence, Chief McComas pulled onto US 63, and observed the suspect vehicle come up behind him. He conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, and after speaking to the occupants, they confessed to entering the vehicle and taking the DVD player. The DVD player was recovered at their residence in Sharp County. The suspects, Jeffrey Miller, age 20 of the Jonesboro area and Jessica Lind, age 20, from the Jonesboro area, were charged with Breaking or Entering and Theft of Property. Miller’s bond was set a $25,000.00 and Lind’s bond was set at $15,000.00. Both stated that they didn’t know the victim, and they just needed money. They were taken to the Lawrence County Jail.
