Thursday’s heavy rainfall caused flooding on low-water bridges and some county roads in the Imboden and Ravenden area.
Sheriff Dotson put the Lawrence County HumVee vehicles to work. Some residents were unable to reach their homes due to the flooding, Sheriff Dotson had deputies assist residents where they could.
Several residents in the area received rides home in the vehicle. The Sheriff’s Department received two of these vehicles which will be extremely effective with flooded roads, the patrol vehicles that deputies have are low to the ground, the military vehicle has high ground clearance and weighs much more enabling to vehicle to travel through water covered roads.
