A command post will be set up by the Office of Emergency Management at the Bill McCurley Gym on the campus, this will serve as the nerve center for the operation including all communications. The Command Center has a mobile dispatch and remote operated camera system.

Jones also stated that a triage will be established by firefighters and medical personnel to assess the wounded while assigned search teams will search the high school building for injured and fatal victims.

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office will hold the perimeter around the school, allowing only those with proper credentials inside the exercise.
