At 10:52 am. on Sunday, the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a one vehicle accident with the victim trapped in the vehicle. Strawberry, Lynn and Smithville Fire Departments were paged along with AET Ambulance of Imboden.
The female victim of the crash was extricated from the vehicle by members of the fire departments while Air-Evac was flown in from Jonesboro. Once the helicopter was on scene, the victim was loaded from the ambulance to the helicopter, then transported to The Med in Memphis.
The accident was investigated by the Arkansas State Police with only the one injury reported. The cause of the accident is unknown, the driver was wearing a seatbelt. Thanks to Gene Ponder for the photos.
