After being postponed a week due to weather, the Imboden Christmas Parade was held Sunday under sunny skies.  The Christmas Parade sponsored by the City Of Imboden and the Imboden Volunteer Fire Department was dedicated to this years Grand Marshall Ancel Matthews.

Capt. Joe Chappell of the Imboden Volunteer Fire Department directed the line up on the south end of town and at 3pm the parade began. The route traveled the length of 4th street through town ending at the Sloan Hendrix Campus. Parade watchers lined the streets to catch a glimpe of the various holiday floats, fire engines, horses, and other entries.

Finishing up the Imboden Christmas Parade was Santa Claus who rode on the top of Imboden Volunteer Fire Department’s Engine Two .

Participants this year included the Imboden Volunteer Fire Department, Black Rock Volunteer Fire Department, AET Ambulance, Dail’s Wrecker Service, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Sloan Hendrix Kindergarten Classes, Imboden 4-H Club, Iberia Bank, Imboden Girl Scouts, Imboden Boy Scouts, Imboden Area Charter School, Misty’s Zumba, Imboden Cub Scouts, Pig-N-Out BBQ, HD Tree Service, The Rone Valley Hillbilly Bikers of Rone Valley, Scenic Rivers Realty and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol.

 

Individual entries included Bobby Powell, Eddie Durham, Dustin Durham, Bruce Hill, Ernie Ivy, Larry Sexton, Kyle Fultner, John Davis and Jack Dail.

 

The City of Imboden and the Imboden Volunteer Fire Department wish to extend a “Thank You” to Denny and Kelly Durham, owners of Imboden RV and Shelter Insurance of Imboden of their parking lot.
