Snow blankets Lawrence County overnight with snow totals from 1 to 3 inches throughout the county. Lawrence County Deputies and Walnut Ridge Police Officers reported bridges and overpasses were beginning to become slick shortly after midnight. Officers from both agencies requested the Lawrence County Dispatch contact the Arkansas Highway Department to attend to those problem spots.
Temperatures dipped just below freezing in the county but the ground held just enough heat to keep the roadways clear all but a few remote spots. The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office still advises for motorist to drive with caution on their commute.
There were no local school closings in the Lawrence County area due to the winter weather.
