Black Rock Fire Department Responds To Early Morning Structure Fire Followed By A 2nd Fire Shortly After
At 2:36 am the Lawrence County Dispatch paged the Black Rock Volunteer Fire Department to a structure fire at a residence on Lawrence 210.
Lawrence County Deputy Matt Cook was in the area and responded to the scene. Deputy Cook was at the fire in minutes and reported to Black Rock Firemen in route to the scene that the home was fully involved. Deputy Cook searched the area for the occupants and checked a nearby camper but could not find anyone. Deputy Cook also notified dispatch of the physical address of the residence.
Black Rock Asst. Chief Pat Roby Jr. was on scene at 2:41 am shortly followed by the Black Rock Engines. Craighead Electric was notified and in route to the scene at 2:42 am. The residents of the home, listed as Terry and Patty Cox, 841 Lawrence 210 were found to be out of town at the time of the fire, no one else was in the residence.
Shortly before 5 am. the Black Rock Volunteer Fire Department was paged to a second fire described as a brush fire in Black Rock, firefighters were still on scene at the structure fire on Lawrence 210 when the call was received. A Black Rock Fire Unit was sent to put that fire out as well.
