The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Mountain View man with two counts of harassment after the man admitted to logging into a Mountain Home teenagers account and replacing her photos with nude photos. The suspect is described by investigators as being infatuated with the teen.
The Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the teens mother back in June, the woman stated someone was accessing the teens account, cutting and pasting photos of nude females over the photos of the teenager and saving them to the account. Baxter County Investigators traced the IP address used to do this back to an address in Mountain View. The suspect was questioned in August by investigators with the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office and the Arkansas State Police.
A search of the suspect’s laptop computer revealed some 35,000 images, some were of the teen victim and her family. The suspect, Stephen Paul Simmons, 49 of Mountain View that he was infatuated with the victim and he thought they were the “perfect familyâ€. On September 28th, Baxter County obtained a warrant for Simmons arrest, Simmons surrendered to authorities and was charged with two counts of harassment, Class A Misdemeanors. Simmons posted a $1000.00 bond and was released from custody, Simmons is to appear in District Court on October 6th, 2011.
