Lauren Isbell and Nathan Gann from the East Arkansas Agency on Aging gave presentations about 9-
11 to each class at the Imboden Area Charter School on Thursday, September 8. Each presentation
was geared to the appropriate grade level. Books were read about firefighters, police and emergency
personnel during the 9-11 attacks. The 4thand 5th grades were read a book about Harvey, a
reconditioned fireboat that was used during 9-11 to help put out the fires. Another book read to the 4th
and 5th grades was about a couple of dogs named Pepper and Rover remembering how 9-11 affected
them and the humans of New York City. The presenters also discussed the importance of firefighters,
police and emergency personnel in our communities and about fire drills both at school and at home.
