On August 11, 2001 the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Dept. returned one of its most wanted back to Lawrence County. Aaron Benson (11/25/88) formally of Lawrence County was wanted on an Alias Bench Warrant for breaking and entering and for theft of property with a $10,000 bond. Benson was placed on the most wanted site after he had failed to appear in Circuit Court. Tips from concerned citizens started pouring in and it was learned to Benson was out West. Every time information about Benson’s whereabouts came in he would leave that area. Finally information came in that Benson was in Glendive, Montana. Officers from Glendive picked Benson up for the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Dept. and held him until Deputies could make the long drive to Montana. Deputies transported Benson back to Lawrence County to face his charges in Circuit Court scheduled on August 24. Benson will also be charged with the expense of transporting him back to Lawrence County.
