At 8:42 pm Tuesday night the Lawrence County Dispatch Center received a call from Sharp County reporting a house fire on Lawrence 128 close to the Sharp County line. The Lawrence County Dispatch Center paged the Ravenden Volunteer Fire Department to respond.
At 8:48 pm the Ravenden Volunteer Fire Department was in route with a brush truck and engine as well as several fire fighters. Ravenden Chief Butch Dail requested that the Smithville Volunteer Fire Department be paged for assistance. Smithville responded with an engine and several firemen as well.
As the Smithville Firemen got close to the scene, they reported heavy smoke and once on scene at 9 pm reported the residence to be fully involved. Ravenden was on scene at 9:07 pm.
Smithville Fire Chief Wes Lillard requested that dispatch send AET Ambulance of Imboden to the scene for standby, Smithville sent a second truck to the scene.
The residence was reported to be the Gerald Brown residence located on Lawrence County Road 128.
