The storms that came through our area around 6:30 am Tuesday morning delivered some very high winds that caused damage to several areas.

Around 6:00 am the Lawrence County Dispatch Center located in Walnut Ridge alerted Sheriff’s Deputies and Fire Departments about the approaching storms to our area. Once the storms arrived, high winds and heavy rains caused power outages to many places in the county.

Imboden Volunteer Fire Department kept busy Tuesday morning removing debris from roadways and inspecting damage to the area. Several roads in the area were impassable due to trees across the roads. Black Rock Volunteer Firemen faced the same with trees down blocking Hwy 25 for some time. The same was true for Hoxie and Walnut Ridge. Reports from all over the county came in about downed trees and power lines.

Parts of Imboden and the surrounding areas were still without power as of Wednesday afternoon. No injuries were reported in the Imboden area but several homes and vehicles in our area received damage.

Thanks to Asst. Chief Jim Jones for keeping us updated on all the happenings, for the photos, and for removing the tree blocking our road.
Also Thanks to Mike Mcleod for the storm photo’s he sent in!
