On June 18, 2011 the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Dept. arrested a man from Ravenden for reckless driving, DWI, refusal to submit to a chemical test, no seat belt, possession of marijuana, possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest came after deputies noticed the vehicle the man was driving going through a field outside of Ravenden driving at a high rate of speed and then pull out onto the road and drive all over the road. The deputies stopped the vehicle and spoke with the suspect. He told the deputies he had been drinking tequila and taking prescription drugs. He was placed under arrest for DWI. The deputies found meth, marijuana and pipes in his pockets while placing him into the patrol vehicle. He was transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing. He was given an O R bond on June 20 and a Circuit Court date of June 29.
