Lawrence County Dispatch received a call of a young female swimmer that had been caught up in the river’s current and carried down stream shortly before 3pm. Lawrence County Deputy Robert Jones arrived and soon formed a plan of action.
Deputy Jones ask the Lawrence County Dispatch to call for the Rescue Boat housed at the Lynn Fire Department. Before the Lynn Department was in route Deputy Jones was contacted by a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Reserve Officer who informed him the he was in the area and already had a boat in tow. Deputy Jones informed Lynn that he would not need the boat, he informed the Reserve Deputy to bring the boat to the Imboden Boat Launch.
As the boat arrived on scene, Deputy Jones noticed a boat coming into the boat launch, he ask the boaters to travel down stream and attempt to locate the girl. Within minutes the boaters arrived back at the launch with the wet but uninjured female.
AET Ambulance was on standby and ask the young female if she was injured or required medical attention, the young female stated she was OK and walked off in the direction of her home.
