On June 08, 2011 the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Dept. arrested Ronnie Lee Moore Jr. (08/26/76) of Powhatan for possession of pseudoephedrine with intent to manufacture meth and illegal sales of pseudoephedrine. The arrest came after a Lawrence County Deputy noticed the vehicle Moore was driving going all over the road and stopped the vehicle to check on the driver near Portia. While speaking with Moore the deputy noticed Moore was shaking and acting strangely. The deputy then asked Moore if there was anything illegal in the vehicle and Moore told the deputy he could look. The deputy found pseudoephedrine and asked Moore about it. Moore told the deputy that he bought pseudoephedrine to trade for meth; he stated that he got a ½ gram of meth for each box of pseudoephedrine. Pseudoephedrine is the key ingredient in the manufacture of meth. Moore was placed under arrest and transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing. Bond was set at $5,000 and a Circuit Court date of June 29 issued at a hearing on June 09.
