The “Prescription Drop Box” located at the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is getting lots of attention according to Sheriff Jody Dotson.

Sheriff Dotson reported that on Friday April 15th he collected another 18.8 pounds of prescription drugs that had been dropped off in the box by local residents. Sheriff Dotson states that this is such a positive effort, keeping these items from coming in contact with children or being disposed of in an improper way. To date the “Drop Box” has collected over 50 pounds of prescription drugs.

In addition to the “Drop Box”, Sheriff Dotson is hosting the 2nd RX Takeback Day on April 30th in two separate locations, one being the side entrance to the Sheriff’s Department in Walnut Ridge and the second will be in the parking lot of the Imboden Area Charter School located on Hwy 63 in Imboden.
