What began as an intense search for an 8 year boy turns out to be a false report by an intoxicated father. After a 2 hour search by the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office the boy was found, safe.
Authorities learned the boy had gone to church with neighbors and investigation by deputies revealed the neighbors had stopped and talked with the father and obtained permission to take the boy to church.
The father also gave authorities the incorrect name of his son, later identified as Bryan Parker. The father incorrectly told 9-1-1 operators the childs name was Bryan Nash.
The father, 45 year old William Anthony Nash was extremely intoxicated when he called 9-1-1 and falsely reported his son as missing according to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office.
Nash was arrested and charged with filing a false police report. He was so intoxicated that he was taken to Baxter Regional Medical Center where he became uncooperative and recieved a second charge of disorderly conduct.
The 8 year old boy was turned over to the Arkansas Department of Human Services. Approximately 15 officers from Baxter County, the Arkansas State Police and Arkansas Department of Corrections assisted in the search.
