Tuesday around noon the traffic on Hwy 63 at the intersection of Hwy 62 came to a halt in the northbound lane and westbound Hwy 62.
The delay was caused by a semi truck entering the Hwy 63 northbound lane from Hwy 62 west that broke a driveshaft, disabling the vehicle in a busy intersection in town.
The Imboden Volunteer was dispatch by the Lawrence County Dispatch Center to help control traffic and avoid other accidents. The firemen using only the southbound lane were able to keep traffic flowing and delays to a minimum.
Dail’s Wrecker Service was dispatched and on scene in a matter of minutes. The semi truck was towed out of the roadway and both lanes of traffic were flowing after about 30 minutes of delays.
