Sheriff Dotson of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department announced the March 15th arrest of Christopher Ashley Whaley of Ravenden for domestic battery, criminal mischief, terrorostic threatening, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia and 2 counts of assault on a corrections officer.

The arrest came after a 911 call of a domestic in progress in Ravenden. Deputies responded to the residence in Ravenden where they found a female who had been assaulted and property had been damaged.

Deputies arrested Whaley on site, Whaley then threatened the deputy who arrested him. Whaley was transported to the Lawrence County Jail where he made even more threats to deputies and jailors. While booking Whaley into the jail, jailors discovered a used syringe and some pills hidden in Whaley’s boot. When the items were discovered, Whaley became combative and assaulted 2 of the jailors. One of the jailors sustained a black eye and scratches to his face before Waley could be restrained.

Whaley will be held in the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing on Thursday.
