Sheriff Jody Dotson released information today on the March 13th arrest of John William Walley of Lynn for possession of a controlled substance (meth) and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana).
The arrest came after a deputy stopped a vehicle on County Road 280 near Lynn. The vehicle was being driven by a woman identified as Terra Perkins with Walley in the passenger side. A check of Perkins showed her to have a felony warrant from the West Memphis Police Department for possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to manufacture meth. Perkins was placed under arrest for the warrant by the deputy.
Walley was asked if he had any illegal substances on him, he stated he did not and emptied his pockets. The deputy noticed a baggie of meth in the contents of Walley’s pockets along with some marijuana.
Walley was placed under arrest and transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing. Perkins was also transported to the Lawrence County Jail where she was picked up by the West Memphis Police Department.
Monday bond was set at $2500.00 on Walley at a hearing and a Circuit Court Date of March 23 was issued.
