Thursday’s storms kept the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Walnut Ridge Police Department and several local Fire Departments busy with flooded road conditions.
Deputies from Lawrence County had their hands full with water crossing Hwy 63 in several places throughout the county as well as the 115/117 intersection at Jesup. Several vehicles were reported off in flooded ditches, but no injuries were reported.
City of Walnut Ridge Police Chief Richy Thatcher took ImbodenLive on a tour of the flood waters on Friday, officers of the Walnut Ridge Police Department and the Walnut Ridge Fire Department worked through the night dealing with the flooded city streets.
Quorum Court Member Jim Jones was in contact with County Judge Dale Freeman during the recent flooding, giving him updates on road conditions around Imboden. Jones told ImbodenLive that repairs would start as soon as the water receded. Friday road graders were on county roads in the area repairing the worst of the damage, Jones also said to look for the graders to return in a week or so to finish up the job.
