Baxter County is reporting that a convicted sex offender who was released from the Arkansas Department Of Corrections on January 26th has failed to register and his whereabouts are unknown.
Steven Lynn Coney, age 38 said that he would be residing in Gassville upon his release from prison, he was required to register with the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office no later than Feb. 5th following his relaese. Officers checked the residence listed looking for Coney but he was not found. Others residing at the residence informed officers that they had no contact with Coney since his release.
Steven Lynn Coney was convicted of Sexual Abuse in the 1st Degree in 2000, later convicted of Failing to Register in 2005 and sent to prison.
The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking the location and whereabouts of Coney. If any member of the public has information on Steven Lynn Coney they are being asked to contact the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office at 870-425-7000.
